Diallos Hoslow is one of the most intriguing noble knights in Elden Ring, possessing a narrative arc defined by grief, vengeance, and a search for purpose. Players first encounter him at Roundtable Hold, where he speaks of searching for his loyal servant Lanya across the misty wetlands of Liurnia. Locating Diallos after he departs the hold is a vital step for completing his tragic storyline and securing unique equipment.
Finding Diallos in the Sunken Ruins of Liurnia
After leaving Roundtable Hold, Diallos travels to the flooded region of Liurnia of the Lakes. He can be found standing on a ruined rooftop just north of the Academy Gate Town Site of Grace. As you approach the sunken structures, you will hear his grieving dialogue near the corpse of his servant.
Speaking with Diallos reveals his anger toward the Recusants of Volcano Manor, who are responsible for Lanya's tragic demise. He vows to avenge her death, setting his trajectory toward Mt. Gelmir. Exhausting all his dialogue options here is required to trigger his next appearance.
Advancing to Volcano Manor and Mt. Gelmir
To continue Diallos's narrative, players must journey to Volcano Manor located atop Mt. Gelmir. Upon joining the manor's faction or exploring its hallways, you will find Diallos sitting inside the main drawing room. Despite his earlier promises of vengeance, he has fallen under the sway of Tanith and embraced the Recusant creed.
Exhaust his dialogue in the drawing room after completing assassination contracts for the manor. Over time, Diallos begins to express doubts about his noble bloodline and his true standing among warriors. Once the Volcano Manor questline finishes or Rykard is defeated, Diallos vanishes from Mt. Gelmir to seek a new path.
Relocating Diallos to Jarburg for His Final Chapter
The final phase of Diallos's journey unfolds in Jarburg, a tranquil village hidden along the cliffs of eastern Liurnia. You can reach this secluded area by descending the large gravestones protruding from the cliff wall near the Carian Study Hall. To progress the story, you must interact with Jar Bairn, a small living jar NPC residing on a porch nearby.
After resting at a Site of Grace and reloading the area multiple times, Diallos appears inside one of the huts as the official Potentate, caring for the living jars. His presence brings him a sense of peace that eluded him throughout his aristocratic life. Continuing to talk with Jar Bairn advances the final events of the village.
Defending Jarburg and Resolving the Quest
Eventually, reloading the zone causes a poacher attack on Jarburg, leaving the village in disarray. Diallos stands up to defend the peaceful jars, suffering fatal injuries during the battle to protect his charge. Interacting with Diallos in his final moments allows him to ask if he successfully defended the village, offering a poignant end to his arc.
Exhausting Jar Bairn's dialogue and reloading the area awards players with key items, including the Hoslow Petal Whip and Diallos's Mask. These rewards honor Diallos's growth from a self-doubting nobleman into a brave protector of Jarburg.
